Welcome to Moneyverse!

Money is more than just a means of payment. It connects and divides, is longed for and missed. It is a universal medium of exchange that we have used for thousands of years. Experience the phenomenon of money in the interactive, multimedia Moneyverse exhibition. From 10 April 2026 at Kaiserhaus Bern!

Two people stand in front of an interactive monitor and eagerly explore the content, while other visitors curiously view the exhibits in the background – the atmosphere is interested, attentive, and dialogue-oriented.

Exhibition

The Moneyverse presents insights into one of humanity’s most significant inventions. Four Money Worlds illuminate the subject from different perspectives: history, economics, society and the individual. Discover some of the objects we have used as money in the past, imagine the future of money on the Utopia Phone, and get a unique glimpse inside the workings of the Swiss National Bank. And in between take a break and listen to Pink Floyd’s ‘Money’ or Gwen Stefani’s ‘Rich Girl’ on the jukebox, or have a chat about money with one of our hosts waiting for you at the Moneyverse bar.

A young, male-read person sits pensively in an exhibition with headphones and an audio guide. His gaze appears calm and focused, as if he is immersed in the narrative – a mixture of curiosity and quiet attention.

Tours

What are the functions of the Swiss National Bank? Why is Switzerland so rich? And does money make you happy? Take one of our audio walks, and stroll through the Moneyverse listening to experts from the fields of science, culture and finance. For around 40 minutes, they will offer insights, fascinating facts and stories, and leave you with plenty of food for thought about money. So put on the headset and get going!

One hand holds a smartphone on which the colorful game "Moneyverse – the Game" has been launched. Next to it is an NFC (Near Field Communication) indicator. The atmosphere is playful and digital – curiosity and anticipation for an interactive journey of discovery are in the air.

Game

If you are looking for a playful way to discover the Moneyverse, this game is just right for you. Working in a small group, you collect points from all four Money Worlds. Along the way, you will encounter a Yap stone from the Palau islands that weighs several tons, a Bitcoin mining rig, and nylon stockings, which just a few decades ago were a hotly desired currency. A variety of challenges will open up new vistas.

Practical Information
